Ca' Momi Rosso di Napa 2019

A fusion of Napa Valley terroir and Italian winemaking heritage, Ca’ Momi was founded in 2006 by a trio of Italians, Dario De Conti, Valentina Guolo-Migotto and Stefano Migotto. Dario and Stefano had earned a reputation as talented young winemakers in their native country in the 1990s before relocating to California. Here they soon fell in love with the Napa Valley, founding their own label which interprets the region’s natural beauty in typical Italian style. Their easygoing Rosso di Napa is reminiscent of a classic Italian house wine that’s perfect for celebrating cosy family dinners and casual gatherings. It’s made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot and Petite Syrah and is just lightly oaked to allow the varietal character and quality of the grapes to shine through. On the nose there’s intense blueberry, cassis and blackberry notes along with a hint of woodsmoke, toast and spice. The first sip reveals a generous full body, smooth tannins and a long finish seasoned with oaky hints, plums and crushed wild berries. The bold flavour profile and very drinkable style make this a great wine to serve with tomato-based pastas, pizzas, charcuterie and other classic Italian dishes like aubergine parmigiana.
