Raphaël Midoir Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Loire Valley

Raphaël Midoir is a fifth-generation winemaker having taken over the family business in Chémery in 1997. Primarily producing wines made from Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, he focuses on expressing terroir using sustainable, environmentally friendly methods, bringing out freshness, minerality, and elegance. Sourced from vineyards grown on clay-limestone and flint soils, this wine was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve its delicate aromatics. It then spent several months ageing on fine lees to round out its texture and add additional complexity. Expect notes of fresh green apple and gooseberry, paired with refreshing acidity and a streak of minerality on the finish. Like many Loire whites, it pairs perfectly with seafood as well as fish dishes, roasted cauliflower, grilled asparagus, and goat’s cheese salads.
