Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe's La Crau is a 100-hectare estate, with half of it located in the exceptional lieu-dit of 'La Crau', unofficially considered the grand cru of the area. The vineyards are farmed organically, and the vines in La Crau are between 70 to 100 years old. Vieux Telegraphe produces several wines from their vineyards, including Chateauneuf, Gigondas, Ventoux, and even in Lebanon. However, La Crau is where they draw their cuvee Classique, a classic style of Chateauneuf among the very best of the appellation. The wine is a blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, and 10% Syrah, allowed to mature for 9 months in concrete vats followed by a period in large old foudres, which allows the terroir and the fruit quality to shine. The stony La Crau plateau, in the southeast of the appellation, is where Vieux Telegraphe sources their cuvee Classique. This wine is a 75cl red wine, suitable for both men and women.
