Product Description
Chateau Kirwan has an interesting history. Mark Kirwan became the owner through marriage in 1760. He then lost the property during the French Revolution, but managed to regain it from Napoleon. The Kirwans sold it in 1827. The 1985 vintage was very good for the wines of Bordeaux, with great structure and ageing potential. A typical blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The wine is in good condition, with a good capsule and some minor tares on the label. The wine level is at the base of the neck. On tasting, it has a nice gentle bouquet with a light background of anise and thyme. The length is nice, with ripe berries and very light tannins. It's not as strong-bodied as expected.
