Ch. Lynch-Bages, a 5th Growth Grand Cru Classe from Pauillac, is a notable estate with 90 hectares of vineyards, making it the largest 5th Growth estate. Located on the gravel plateau west of Pauillac, nearby the village of Bages, the vineyards are planted with 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine matures for around 15 months in 60% new barriques. Recent studies and adjustments to viticulture have resulted in even better, more concentrated wines. The estate is worth a visit when in Bordeaux, and the dark-fruited, Cabernet-dominant wine is a standout. This wine is a 75cl red wine, suitable for both men and women.
