Dr Heger's chardonnay, from the Ihringer Winklerberg site, is marked by an extraordinary minerality that only occurs as a result of soil from weathered volcanic rock. This gives the wine - in addition to its power - an elegance and finesse. It has been fermented in barriques and aged in small French barrels. This dry white wine has a very precise filigree, and yet an expressive varietal aroma of young greengages, white hazelnuts, citrus compote and white apple, with a stony minerality, as well as very discreet smoky hints of spice. The minerality, freshness and vivid core are the first impression on the palate. Dr Heger's chardonnay has a backbone full of character and a firm, but well-integrated acidity structure. It has a bright aroma with a striking salty grip in the finish. This chardonnay has a great inner density, due to the firm structure, but is without any heaviness. It's an ideal wine to accompany grilled fish, hearty roasts or Mediterranean dishes. Suitable for both men and women.
