Meneghetti Olive Oil Leccino

Founded in Bale, Croatia, in 2000, Meneghetti is a winery with an adjoining wine resort and restaurant managed by Miroslav Plišo. The company owns approximately 10 hectares of vineyards and 2 hectares of olive groves with approximately 600 trees. The land surrounding the property enjoys a privileged location in the beautiful countryside of the Istrian peninsula, a short distance from Pula and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Oil production focuses on monocultivar olive oils, made with both indigenous and non-native varieties. The company also purchases some of its olives from trusted local farmers. The Leccino olives come from the olive trees in Stancija Meneghetti. This very popular and widespread variety has Italian origins and is perfectly suited to the Istrian climate, producing excellent quality oils characterized by great freshness and excellent aromatic character. Meneghetti Leccino Olive Oil has, in fact, repeatedly achieved top scores in Marco Oreggia's Flos Olei guide, considered one of the world's leading olive oil references. This extra-vigin olive oil displays a bright green color. Its aromatic profile is fresh and bold, with vegetal notes of Mediterranean herbs and wild chicory, and delicate fruity and almond hints. On the palate, it is round, lively and complex, rich and distinctive, with a pleasant bitter note and a long, spicy finish. It is the perfect olive oil for seasoning grilled or boiled fish, veggie soups and salads.
