A dessert variety that has had a lot of success and will almost certainly become a favourite among UK gardeners. Apple 'Scrumptious,' as the name suggests, has a complex and mouthwatering flavour, with crisp, sweet flesh and thin, bright-red skins. It is self-fertile and has been specially bred for garden conditions, making it ideal for gardens with only one fruit tree. The blossom is frost resistant, ensuring a good crop of apples in September that stay on the tree until picked rather than falling as they ripen. The fruits are best eaten fresh from the tree, but once picked, they will keep until October.
