Product Description
Discover the delights of ‘Darrow’, a celebrated blueberry variety, renowned for its resilience and, above all, its exceptionally large and delicious berries! This superb cultivar yields an abundance of plump blueberries throughout August, perfect for picking straight from the shrub and enjoying as a sweet treat or baking into pies. The foliage offers seasonal interest, beginning with delicate pale pink blossoms that adorn the green leaves in spring, followed by vibrant colour transformations in autumn. A dependable and hardy shrub, ideal for your patio or wildlife garden, and adored by pollinators.Blueberries thrive in well-drained, acidic soil, in a sunny or partially shaded location. In areas lacking naturally acidic soil, cultivate blueberry plants in patio containers using a blend of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3. Ideally, water blueberries with rainwater, as the lime content in tap water can gradually reduce soil acidity.Expect fruit production to commence in the third year. As the berries develop, protect them from birds by covering the plants with netting. From the third year onwards, prune away the oldest stems each autumn to encourage new growth and maintain a healthy plant structure.Product Specifications:.Position: Sun or semi-shade.Height: Up to 200cm (78in).Spread: Up to 200cm (78in).Supplied as: 9cm Pot x 1.Delivered with growing and care instructions.Images are for illustrative purposes only, showcasing the expected results from mature plants.
