Mnemba Atoll

It is undoubtedly the most popular place for snorkeling in Zanzibar and a must-do during your stay here. It is often called The Tropical Fish Capital since the place is well known for its large variety of different types of fish. Stingrays, Lionfish, Frogfish, Leaf fish and Zebrafish are just five of the over 350 different species that have been recorded around Mnemba Island. Mnemba island is one of the best and popular spots in Zanzibar for its beautiful and colorful marine life to your eyes before even you dip your head, it’s a right place for having a premium snorkeling due to the presence of plenty of fish like frogfish, barracuda and napoleon fish and hard and soft coral reefs. Mnemba island is very popular as dolphin destination in Zanzibar especially bottle nosed dolphins though it’s not guaranteed however can be spotted most of the days. If it’s low tide you can have a good time at the sandbank surrounded with very crystal clear waters.
