Prunus mume 'Beni-Chidori'

An award-winning Japanese Ornamental Apricot that is one of the most well-loved early spring flowering trees. Prunus mume ?Beni-Chidori? is a beautiful small tree that is ideal for small growing spaces and even large pots. In late February to March, the bare branches are smothered in a profusion of raspberry-pink single flowers which burst into bloom much earlier than Japanese cherries. An excellent choice for wildlife gardens where the almond-like fragranced blossom will be adored by a wealth of beneficial pollinating insects. The glossy, mid-green leaves will take on orange and yellow tinges in autumn.
