Product Description
A native, fully hardy, quite fast growing deciduous small tree. An abundance of golden yellow catkins during February and March followed by shiny, broad heart shaped green leaves that turn a lovely golden yellow in autumn. Grows best in fertile, well- drained soil, particularly chalky soils either in sun or part shade. Corylus avellana ?Webbs Prize Cob? produces large clusters of tasty nuts, classed as a cobnut, eaten green or allowed to fully ripen. Partially self fertile but best grown with any other hazelnut variety for reliable pollination. Height: 3m (10?). Spread: 3m (10?).Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
