The Portimão municipal market is a place of authentic discovery of the freshest and most characteristic products of the Algarve region, with a wide range of fresh fish on offer from Tuesday to Saturday. Interaction with the vendors is great fun and the lively atmosphere of an authentic local market offers a glimpse into local life. You will learn about the region's fishing industry, one of the few in Portugal where you can still buy the freshest fish in a city market, sold directly by fishermen to private consumers. During the experience you will learn how to grill different types of fish (fresh and seasonal) and taste the typical snacks that accompany fish barbecues in the Algarve, which are both art and tradition, a characteristic summer ritual celebrated in every Algarvian home. The experience includes a bottle of regional wine and, to end the meal on a high note, you will be served homemade limoncello at the end.
