Manoir Socle Bed

External side rail height 29cm. WHAT IS A SOCLE BED. The word socle comes from the Italian word zoccolo literally meaning wooden shoe and dates back to the 18th Century, thus giving us the English word sock. Architecturally, its a low plinth or pedestal to display the article on top, hence the design for our beds.
