The Everbuild Fire Mate Intumescent Sealant in Brown offers a five-hour rated fire protection solution with a darker finish that suits timber frames, brown joinery and other applications where a less conspicuous seal is required. This one-part, emulsion acrylic based intumescent acoustic sealant is particularly popular for use with wooden door frames and darker construction materials. Tested to BS 476 part 20 (1987) standards, this brown variant delivers exceptional fire resistance by swelling greater than 3 times its original size when exposed to heat, creating a protective char barrier. The formulation provides excellent acoustic properties for sound deadening whilst offering a firm yet flexible seal in joints up to 50mm wide. Perfect for sealing joints, voids and irregular holes in fire walls and partitions, as well as maintaining fire integrity around penetrating pipes and cables. Especially suited for internal perimeter pointing of fire rated timber door and window frames. Fast curing with tack-free time of just 15 minutes, this sealant requires no priming on most construction substrates and is fully overpaintable.
