Product Description

Upgrade your lawn with Harrowden Traditional Meadowmat 20sqm. Imagine yourself surrounded by wildflowers and grasses, with summer insects buzzing around with this meadowmat. It's a delightful mix of 31 native wildflowers and 3 types of grass, reminiscent of an old-fashioned hay meadow. Perfect for a sunny spot, Traditional Meadowmat combines low maintenance with biodiversity to create a relaxed, natural look. If you prefer a more manicured appearance, just trim the edges and mow paths through it for a touch of formality. Key Benefits Perennial Plants: Most of the species in Traditional Meadowmat wildflower turf are perennial, meaning they’ll come back year after year. Flowering Time: May to July, depending on the weather. Pre-Mown: Meadowmat is mown before dispatch to protect the plants, so it won't be in flower upon arrival. First Season Flowers: Install Traditional Meadowmat before the end of March to enjoy flowers in its first season. Changing Seasons, Changing Meadows The balance of plant species in your Traditional Meadowmat will vary with soil type, management, pollinator activity, and local climate, giving it a unique look each year. Traditional Meadowmat is easy and requires a different approach compared to traditional gardening: No need for fertilisers or pesticides. No lawn mower required. Let it grow unchequeed from March to August. At the end of summer, cut it back to 10-15 cm and remove all vegetation. Mow once or twice in autumn to remove excess growth, then leave it over winter. It will start growing again when the soil warms up in spring. Growing Tips: Traditional Meadowmat loves full sun and moist, well-drained, low-fertility soil. It’s happy on level surfaces or slopes and thrives in fairly neutral pH but can tolerate all but the most acidic or alkaline soils. Recommend: installing Meadowmat onto Low Fertility Soil to maintain the right balance of grasses and flowering plants for a colourful display. Coverage Each slab measures 500mm (19.6") wide by 1000mm (39.2") long. Two slabs cover 1m². Please note, this product is sold per square metre. Traditional Meadowmat includes: 20% Native Grasses 80% Native Wildflowers. Percentages refer to the weight of the seed in the mix and may not reflect the proportions of mature plants.
