RAC014 Powerlite Dynalite Designed and manufactured by highly experienced auto electricians in West Midlands, UK. The Dynalite aims to bring together modern alternator technology with the classic looks and appearance of a Dynamo. Ideal for both road and competition use the Dynalite provides up to 80% more power and weigh up to 40% less than original dynamo units. The Dynalite units are produced in a wide range of different models replicating original dynamo units, thus allowing the Dynalite to directly replace dynamo units with no modifications to the vehicle. In many cases the original dynamo pulleys can also be used on the new units, creating a simple and reversible alternator conversion. The self regulating Dynalite units offer increased reliability and performance charging efficiently across the full rev range. The wiring changes required for the units are very simple and reversible. All Dynalite units are supplied with comprehensive fitting instructions. Powerlite also offer a wide range of fitting accessories including pulleys and dummy control boxes. What changes need to be made to the wiring? The Dynalite unlike a dynamo is self regulating, therefore the control box is redundant. There are two ways to rewire the control box for the Dynalite unit. The first is to simply bypass or use the control box as a junction point with two small wiring changes. The second and preferred option is to fit a Powerlite dummy control box. Dummy Control Boxes: Identical in fitment and appearance to the original, the dummy unit is pre-wired to aid the necessary changes. Dummy boxes are fitted with an 40A fuse, protecting your electrical system. We recommend the use of dummy control boxes where applicable. NOW 60AMP!! LUCAS C45 TYPE (POSITIVE EARTH) SEE RAC008 FOR NEGATIVE EARTH. The RAC014 (C45 Dynamo replacement) now has a 60 Amp output as opposed to the original 40amp. This now means that it offers more than three times the power of the original dynamo together with increased reliability and full power available at engine tick-over speed.
