Originally, amber is the fragrant, dense, grayish (sometimes black) intestinal secretion of the sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus), which serves to protect the organism's intestinal wall. Processed amber has been a staple in perfumery for millennia.However, in the case of SUPERZ, the amber used is a blend of several plant resins, created from labdanum (Cistus ladanifer), Siam benzoin (Styrax benzoin) resin, and vanilla. It is a classically oriental scent that is extremely persistent. Its aroma is sweet, resinous, warm-toned, and inviting. Laypeople sometimes incorrectly translate the English word "amber" as "borostyán," which means "amberstone," but the fragrance note has little to do with the mineral.
