Product Description

To keep your WoodStone® Salina Bee & Insect Hotel cosy and welcoming, we recommend replacing the nesting tubes every 1-2 years. Swapping out the old tubes helps prevent the build-up of bacteria, which can be harmful to our tiny garden visitors. By doing this, you'll continue to support the biodiversity in your garden and ensure your insect friends have a safe, clean place to call home. How will I know when it's time to replace the tubes? In mid and late summer bees will lay eggs in the tubes and cap the end with a mix of materials like mud, wax or even grass. Over winter these eggs will develop and hatch around early spring as the weather begins to warm up. Monitor their activity, once you see the end of tubes have been disturbed your house is ready for refurb. Simply remove the old tube and replace with the new tubes ensuring you pack them tightly together to keep them stable. Insect hotel not included () for: insect, ladybird.
