Alstroemeria 'Cleo' demands attention with sumptuous dark purple blooms that keep coming for months. The striking blooms open with pale yellow throats, large anthers and dramatic burgundy streaks, carried on long, strong stems that make superb tall cutting arrangements. Exceptionally productive, this Peruvian lily responds eagerly when stems are pulled from the root, quickly replacing them with fresh blooms from June right through to the first frosts. Each flower lasts up to two weeks in a vase, so you can enjoy an unending supply indoors without robbing the garden of colour.Although it makes a superb cut flower, it is far too striking to be hidden away in the cutting garden. Plant in clumps in borders with light staking and it will keep bursting with colour, even defying fierce summer heat to deliver a continuous display for up to six months.
