Guidebook: Haughmond Abbey

The two Shropshire abbeys of Haughmond and Lilleshall were both communities of Augustinian canons founded in the 12th century. Both are typical of the middle rank of English monasteries and display the remains of fine medieval buildings, including the church at Lilleshall and the abbot's hall and lodging at Haughmond.
