Product Description
Tarkovsky's Solaris? More like Solaris-i-probably-won't-listen-to-this-again. This soundtrack by Edward Artemiev is about as exciting as watching paint dry on a spaceship. And trust me, I've done both. The synth-heavy tunes on this album feel less like a cosmic journey and more like a D-list sci-fi movie soundtrack from the 80s. It's like Artemiev took all the cliches of space music and crammed them into one bland, forgettable collection. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are moments of beauty here and there. But they're few and far between, like spotting a shooting star in a dreary night sky. And let's be real, if you're watching Solaris, you're probably not in the mood for a nap-inducing soundtrack. Overall, I'd give this album a solid meh out of 10. It's not terrible, but it's certainly not going to be the soundtrack to my next intergalactic adventure. Unless that adventure involves falling asleep on a space station. In which case, sign me up.
