Taylor’s Sentinels Port 2022, Portugal

Taylor’s has been crafting Port for more than 300 years, and is one of the oldest founding Port Houses – it’s still family managed to this day. Taylor’s Sentinels is an exciting new addition to the portfolio. The name Sentinels is inspired by the granite pillars, known as “marcos de feitoria”, which stand guard along the demarcation line that separates the highest quality Port areas, and this is where many of the Taylor’s estates are situated. After traditional food-treading, the Port then spends two years in large wooden vats before bottling. It will continue to develop for the next 50 years! Expect rich woodland fruits of blackcurrant, dark plum and cherries accompanied by rose petals, damsons and a faint hint of mint and lavender. Perfect with walnuts and blue cheese.
