Taylor's 50 Year Old 'Golden Age' Tawny Port

Elegant, and yet known for their longevity, Taylor's Ports have some serious pedigree. And now it can be yours, at excellent value. Among the regular bottlings that they’ve made since 1692, Taylor's has released this limited-quantity collector’s edition, showing off top-tier Tawny made in the eastern reaches of the Douro Valley. Individual wines were aged extensively in oak casks then blended to achieve a perfect balance of complexity, smoothness and density. Expect notes of rum and raisin, clove, nutmeg and black pepper plus stone-fruit flavours. There’s some zesty lemon and orange in there too, giving it a bright freshness. It's delicious on its own but would also pair well with nutty cheeses like Comté or aged Pecorino, or sweet desserts with figs and caramel.
