1 x 75cl. The producer Castello di Ama is one of Chianti and Tuscany's top estates, founded in 1976 and run by Lorenza Sebasti, who took over the management in 1993. The estate's 75 hectares of vineyards are spread around the village of Ama, in Gaiole-in-Chianti, at elevations of between 420-527 meters above sea level, ensuring excellent freshness in all the wines. Marco Palanti, the winemaker and technical director since 1982, is recognized for adopting the idea of single vineyard wines in Chianti. Castello di Ama is famous for its single vineyards, including Bellavista, San Lorenzo, and La Casuccia. Vigneto Bellavista is a blend of 80% Sangiovese with Malvasia Nera, while Vigneto La Casuccia and San Lorenzo are 80-85% Sangiovese complemented by Merlot and sometimes a hint of Malvasia Nera for San Lorenzo. All three wines are aged in 50% new French oak barrels, and are amongst the finest in the Chianti Classic region. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
