However, their business was interrupted in 1949 when family members were deported and the winery was expropriated. The winery was finally renovated and reopened by Ion Luca in 2011. The winemaker then created the award-winning Carpe Diem wine line, using indigenous and international grape varieties to create premium wines that express the uniqueness of Moldovan viticulture. Produced in a limited edition (approximately 7,400 bottles), Carpe Diem Femme Incredible is a blend of local Feteasca Regală and Viorica grapes, with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc. Harvested by hand, the wine ages in stainless steel after temperature-controlled vinification. The result is a fresh and balanced wine where the floral notes of the Feteasca Regală blend with the herbaceous notes of the Viorica, enhanced by the liveliness and tropical character of the Sauvignon Blanc. In the glass, the wine reveals a fragrant bouquet with notes of basil and wildflowers. On the palate, it is soft, complex, elegant, and fruity. It has a well-balanced acidity and a smooth character. The finish is long and harmoniously fruity. It is the ideal wine to accompany Thai or Vietnamese shellfish dishes, but also pairs well with asparagus risotto and fried artichokes.
