Product Description

This Jean Stodden Rech Spätburgunder 2019 is a world-class old world Pinot from Germany, often compared to Premier Cru Spätburgunder. It's a bloody good value, with Stodden being one of the oldest and very best producers of Pinot Noir in the world. The wine is super fragrant and wild, with black cherry and vanilla flavors, along with exotic spice and chocolate notes. The palate is lovely and dense, with juicy fruits, smoke, and a luscious oak influence. It's young, but drinking superbly now with plenty of freshness and verve. The wine is unfiltered, so it's worth decanting. The name Herrenberg refers to the Lords of Saffenburg, who owned the village of Rech and planted their vineyards in this prime location.
