Sailor's Farewell Serving Bowl 25cm

This stunning footed serving bowl, crafted in fine white bone china perfectly illustrates the whimsical story of The Sailorâs Farewell and its collection of motifs created by renowned designer, Kit Kemp. Originally designed as a fabric pattern, the bowl is finished in a pale blue linen-look echoing the original material. Against this is the Sailorâs loved-one in her yellow dress waving goodbye to the sailor with a red scarf flying in the wind as he sets off on a sea adventure to find an octopus, whale and other silvery fish on his way to an enticing house under a palm tree on a faraway desert island. Further embellished with a deeper blue and skilfully hand-applied 22 carat gold rim, this collection, Kit Kempâs second with Wedgwood, brings her love of folkloric story-telling to life through this charming tableware. The entire collection is used in two of the boutique hotels which Kit co-owns in New York and London and each piece is backstamped for authenticity and presented in a Wedgwood blue signature box to make an ideal gift.
