Product Description

An easily cultivated exotic climber, Passiflora violacea 'Victoria' presents a spectacular display. Its beautiful blooms give way to orange passion fruits in late summer. This vigorous evergreen climber showcases stunning violet flowers, larger than those of most other Passion Flowers. Ideally suited to large containers on the patio or trained up an obelisk, it can be moved indoors to a greenhouse or conservatory during the winter months.Plant your Passion Flower in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny spot protected from cold winter winds, enriching the soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost before planting. Provide trellis or wires attached to fences and pergolas for support. Regular feeding and watering throughout the growing season is beneficial, and an autumn mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost is recommended.Pruning is best undertaken in spring, removing the oldest stems and reducing the remaining stems to manage its vigorous growth.Product Specifications:.Position: Sun or Semi Shade.Height: Up to 800cm (315in).Spread: Up to 200cm (78.7in).Flowering Period: April to August.Culinary note: While the fruits of passiflora are edible, their taste is somewhat unremarkable. They can be used in preserves and desserts. Passiflora edulis, when grown under glass, produces the best fruit for eating. Please note: Images are for guidance only, illustrating the expected results upon maturity; growing conditions may affect results. Images may vary due to seasonality (e.g., deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). This product cannot be delivered outside the United Kingdom.
