Flowering from March to the end of May, this elegant camellia variety is a fantastic addition to any garden, providing year-round interest thanks to its evergreen leaves. A hardy, low-maintenance shrub, camellias thrive best in moist, well-drained, acidic soil and a sheltered, shaded spot. Where acidic soil is not naturally present, grow in patio containers filled with ericaceous compost and John Innes No.3, positioned in dappled shade. Water regularly until fully established, ideally using rainwater to maintain soil acidity. Feed occasionally with fertiliser designed for acid-loving plants. Shield from cold winter winds and strong early morning sunlight to protect against bud drop in early spring.
