Like its natural counterpart, it has a rounded, square shape; the cap is made of white silicone and the socket with the traditional light bulb in the centre serves as the “fruit”. The creator of the Acorn hanging lamp, the Danish designer Jacob Rudbeck, searches for his inspiration in nature, as he believes that nature is still the best graphic designer in the world. Rudbeck designs products for Scandinavia's major design labels, as well as for the trendy Danish lighting manufacturer Vita UMAGE, which has set itself the goal of developing Scandinavian design whilst combining aesthetics, purism and functionality with meticulous craftsmanship to create sustainably beautiful products.
