Murano glass shade: hanging lamp Futura - made in ItalyThe starting point for the design of this series of lamps was the cafeteria of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. Namely, a new lighting system was to be installed there. The design of the luminaires was entrusted to Hangar Design Group, which designed a luminaire specifically for this purpose. The "Peggy" model was then developed into the "Futura" model, which is now mass-produced, but still made by hand. In terms of form, Futura is particularly convincing due to its consistently round shape. Material-wise, the mouth-blown Murano glass is to be emphasized. The glass luminaire body looks as if it consists of two parts due to the different coloration - opal white glossy at the bottom, clear at the top. But this is not the case; it is made in one piece. This is made possible by a special glass blowing technique. The dichotomy of the glass shade is also emphasized by the metal band that is placed around the center. Futura hanging lamp can be used both in private living space and in public and hospitality spaces, either as a solitaire or in a row or grouping arrangement.- with mouth-blown, multi-layered glass
