Asian Wonder' Bamboo is a low-maintenance, clump-forming and non-invasive variety that brings an exotic touch to any garden. Initially displaying green stems, this bamboo matures to reveal stunning ruby-red canes complemented by olive-green foliage after 3 to 5 years. To accentuate the highly decorative stems, strip away some lower foliage as the plant matures, creating a striking contrast and tropical appearance. Reaching a height of 3m (10') and spreading to 1.2m, this *Fargesia murielae* cultivar is ideal for adding structure and interest.When grown in pots, use a soil-based compost like John Innes No 3, ensuring the plant is firmly potted and well-watered, then position in full sun or semi-shade. Alternatively, plant directly into borders in moist, free-draining soil, avoiding poor, dry conditions. If your soil is particularly free-draining, improve it by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Choose a sheltered spot protected from cold, drying winds.
