Hydrangea macrophylla 'Kardinal' (Teller Red)

This award-winning hydrangea is unlike most others as it is extremely pH sensitive, meaning it will cope well in any soil type you grow it in, but the flower colour will vary. In alkaline soil, this compact lacecap variety will produce dark red blooms and in acidic soil, dark red-mauve blooms will emerge. Flowers will bloom throughout summer and into autumn. The deep green foliage of Hydrangea macrophylla 'Kardinal' contrasts wonderfully with the large flowers that are held on strong stems.
