Product Description
A popular plant in organic gardens, Symphytum officinale or comfrey is traditionally used to make liquid fertiliser or grown as a sacrificial plant to lure slugs away from prized plants. As well as being useful, it is also an attractive perennial with drooping clusters of purple, pink or cream bell-shaped flowers over a long period from May to July. The flowers are rich in nectar and highly attractive to pollinators. This UK native thrives in all soils, forming vigorous ground cover with its large hairy leaves. Both practical and decorative, Symphytum officinale is a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly and productive gardens alike. Ultimate height: 120cm (47in). Ultimate spread: 150cm (60in).
