Product Description
Schizophragma integrifolium 'Windmills' is a robust, deciduous, climbing shrub that thrives in full sun or partial shade. The blooms are larger than Schizophragma hydrangeoides, its more well-known cousin. The deep green leaves are oval, toothed, and cover the woody stems, forming a stunning background for the beautiful blossoms. Although slow to grow at first, once established, it will grow quickly and easily scale big walls. For the first few years, this climbing shrub will require tying to the supporting wall, but after that, it will attach itself to the wall by using self-clinging aerial roots. During the months of June and July, this Chinese Climbing Hydrangea produces a plethora of hydrangea-like, creamy-white, lace-capped flowers that are borne in loose clusters. Height: 10m (32'). Spread: 6 m (19 ').
