Thompson and Morgan Clematis Glorious Red Zo23015 Plant Pot 7cm

Clematis Glorious Red bears striking deep red blooms with a velvety texture and bright yellow stamens for a dramatic display. The pinwheel-shaped flowers measure up to 10cm across and appear in abundance from summer into autumn, especially with regular deadheading. Ideal for clothing supports, scrambling through shrubs, or adding vertical colour to a patio container. Plant clematis deeply in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, setting the crown 7.5cm (3 inch) below soil level to encourage strong basal growth. Clematis dislike soils that are excessively wet or dry, so enrich with compost or well-rotted manure where needed. Train onto trellis, wires, or climbing frames, and feed and water generously through the growing season. Mulch in spring to conserve moisture and protect roots. Pruning group 3: Cut back all stems in spring to a pair of healthy buds around 20cm (8 inches) above ground level, as this variety flowers on new growth each year.
