Buddleja davidii 'Empire Blue'

Buddleja davidii 'Empire Blue' was one of the first blue varieties available. This is despite several blue Buddleja introductions. It also remains a worthy specimen shrub for sunny borders. This well-known cultivar remains popular for its superb violet-purple blooms. It also has a delectable sweet fragrance. It is a large deciduous shrub with an upright habit and narrow grey-green leaves with silvery-white undersides. These encircle the arching stems. Height: 200cm (78). Spread: 250cm (98).
