Magnolia 'Genie'

Magnolia 'Genie' is a resilient deciduous shrub. Unlike others of its kind, this stunning plant is a true pioneer in magnolia breeding, retaining a sleek habit with steady flower colour. The blackish-red buds open to reveal marvelously perfumed, deep maroon, tulip-shaped flowers. Flowering lasts several weeks in spring and is frequently followed by a second flowering in mid-summer. It should be avoided in windy areas and frost pockets. Height: 4m (13'). Spread: 1.5m (5').
