Lilac 'Belle de Nancy'

The French-bred Lilac, 'Belle de Nancy' was first introduced in 1891. Still popular today, it is a syringa with real staying power! These double mauve-pink flowers are borne in dense clusters at the stem tips and emit a wonderful sweet perfume. Lilac is a popular choice for classical cottage garden designs, and it also makes an excellent cut flower. The heart-shaped foliage envelops the branching stems, creating a lovely backdrop for summer flowering perennials or an eye-catching screening plant. Butterflies enjoy the nectar-rich blooms as well.
