Helleborus foetidus

A wonderful plant for lighting up shady woodland borders and clothing the ground beneath shrubs, Helleborus foetidus features finely cut, dark evergreen foliage and clusters of nodding, bell-shaped flowers in fresh green hues from late winter into early spring, often with subtle purple-red edging that contrasts beautifully with the leaves. This hardy perennial thrives in shady spots, bringing texture and colour to borders when few other plants are in bloom, while also attracting early pollinators with its plentiful nectar.
