This is a small, hardy, deciduous, easy to grow shrub with glossy, mid-green, ovate foliage. In summer it bears clusters of rich dark rose and deep purple coloured flowers. The mid-green foliage too will change colour turning to reds and yellows at the end of the season. Flowers July-September. The flowers are almost vivid with a firelight quality in delicious shades of rich dark rose or deep purple, depending of the soil pH. Equally at home in the sun or partial shade, this mophead shrub will offer all year round interest as the summer blooms hand over to the red and yellows of the beautiful autumn foliage.
