YouGarden Echium Candicans Pride of Madeira Plant in Pot 5L

The Pride of Madeira (Echium Candicans), a striking plant related to borage, makes a dramatic addition to any garden. This biennial shrub can reach a height and width of 150cm, growing to 1m tall in its first year. In milder climates, after a frost-free winter, it produces impressive purple flower spikes from July onwards, sometimes even starting in April and lasting until August. Thriving in well-drained soil or large pots (add sand or grit for best results), this hardy plant benefits from protection from frost and cold winds, especially when wet. Water well from May to August to support vigorous spring growth. It readily self-seeds, creating attractive colonies and attracting pollinators.
