Product Description

The Syringa double lilac 'Madame Lemoine' is an easy-to-grow variety, producing nectar-rich, fragrant flowers that are irresistible to butterflies. Boasting strong, spreading branches adorned with double white blooms and heart-shaped foliage, this lilac makes a superb specimen shrub for any cottage garden and requires minimal upkeep. Reaching a height and spread of up to 7m.A culinary suggestion: infuse cream cheese or yoghurt with the fragrant flowers for a subtle lemon flavour. For best results, pot up lilac plants and nurture them until they are sufficiently developed for planting in their permanent positions. Once the plants are well-established and the risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a week to ten days. If you receive your plant in autumn, overwinter it in a sheltered spot, such as a cold frame, cool greenhouse, or porch, ready for planting out in spring.Transplant your lilac into rich, fertile, well-drained soil that is either neutral or alkaline, and ensure it receives plenty of sunshine. Water and feed regularly throughout the growing season, especially while the plants are young and establishing themselves. Prune lilac bushes during winter or spring, removing any damaged, diseased, or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining growth. After pruning, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the base of the shrub.Product Specifications: Position: Sun or Semi-Shade. Height: up to 700cm. Spread: up to 700cm.Please note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and represent the expected results from mature plants. Different growing conditions may affect results. Images may also depict the supply, but this can vary due to seasonal changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose their leaves in colder months). The delivered plant's height and spread will vary depending on the season.
