Lilac 'Esther Staley'

Lilac 'Esther Staley' is an early-flowering variety with hyacinth-like flowers. Syringa is a favourite of bees and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for a bright wildlife garden. This hardy, deciduous shrub is a welcome addition to the garden, especially when planted near a doorway or path where its rich fragrance can be enjoyed every time you pass by. In late spring, purple-red buds open to reveal a mass of lilac-pink, strongly scented blooms. Throughout the summer, the heart-shaped foliage emerges bronze and quickly matures to mid-green.
