Product Description

Make a hassle-free addition to your home garden with the Tumbling Tomato Plug Plants 12 Pack. Ideal for smaller planters and pots, this plant promises an abundant harvest of small red cherry tomatoes throughout the summer months. With its self-branching nature, the plant requires minimal maintenance. You simply need to pinch the tip when planting, and then allow it to grow on its own. Unlike other tomato varieties, it doesn't need more pruning or training. It gives a bountiful crop of firm, round fruit, bursting with sweet, delicious juice. Each plant yields hundreds of tomatoes, ensuring a plentiful supply for all your culinary needs. Care Information: Plant on into 9cm pots from April onwards, and grow on for 2 or 3 weeks in a greenhouse/warm environment before placing outside to harden off. Cover plants with horticultural fleece on any unexpectedly cold nights. Once the hardened-off plants are 10cm tall, they can be planted in the hanging basket or container, ideally using 1 plant for a 25cm basket or 3 in a 35cm basket. Fill containers to within 2-3cm (about 1in) of the rim with moist compost - growing bag compost or our own professional compost is ideal. Bury the roots deeply (up to the first ‘seed’ leaves on the stem) and water well, to settle the compost around them. Place the containers in a sunny sheltered spot. Water regularly to keep the compost moist - at least once a day in hot weather when the plants grow larger. As soon as fruits start to form, feed the plants regularly with a liquid tomato food. Remove old leaves as they yellow to let in light and air. When there are four or five trusses of flowers, pinch out the top of the plant to stop it from growing taller. This will concentrate its energy into producing fruit. Plant: Apr-Jun. Fruits: July-Oct.
