Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking'

This chokeberry is a great showpiece and provides plenty of interest all year. Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking' blooms in late spring with white, sometimes pink-tinged blooms that are followed by edible, round black fruits with a slightly tart flavour. The berries are an interesting addition to fruit puddings and jams, but save a few for the birds who will enjoy them in late autumn and winter. The autumn foliage of Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking' is stunning, changing to vibrant shades of orange, red, and purple. This spreading deciduous shrub adds late-season colour to borders and woodland areas, and it's also useful in wildlife gardens. Height and spread: 200 cm (118).
