Lonicera henryi

This vigorous evergreen honeysuckle is one of the most reliable varieties around and will maintain its dark green, luscious leaves in all but the coldest winters. Lonicera henryi boasts whorls of tubular blooms in the summer, which are purple-red on the outside and yellow on the inside. These beautiful blooms exude a heavenly fragrance and once they fade are followed by shiny deep purple berries which the birds adore. This hardy shrub will make a great addition to fences and walls or trained onto pergolas and pillars, where it will need tying in to supporting wires. Height and spread: 800cm (314in) 200cm (79in).
