Salvia verticillata 'Purple Rain'

Soft mounds of mid-green, slightly hairy leaves give rise to long, reddish stems carrying whorls of rich purple flowers that create a buzz with pollinators. Salvia verticillata ‘Purple Rain’ was made famous by the renowned designer, Piet Oudolf, who frequently used it his prairie garden schemes, where it was valued for its resilience, adaptability and long flowering season.
