Each tree arrives at a height of 70-80cm (measured from the base of the pot) with a shaped head. Bay trees thrive in moist but well-drained soil, flourishing in full sun or partial shade. For optimal growth, plant in well-drained soil with added grit to improve drainage, and use a soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 2. Regular feeding with controlled-release fertiliser granules or a liquid feed every two weeks (mid-spring to late summer) is recommended.
